March of Dimes Walk

We participated in the March of Dimes, March for Babies walk in memory of our friends', Jess and Jason, little girl, Rylee Rae, on Saturday. She was born prematurely last year and sadly passed. Their team surpassed their fundraising amount and had about 40 people walking for Rylee. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was beautiful for it!

It's the little things...

Foster got a brand new crate 2 days ago!! Just in time to go to Decatur for an agility trial next weekend! Lexi , Miss Crate Destructor Extraordinaire, will get a new WIRE crate next week. She ripped through one soft crate at Decatur last November, and again through a new one at Memphis earlier this month.

Not too much has happened since my last post... a lot of rain, but a some really pretty days too. We have been practicing mostly for the upcoming show. Mike and Bay are practicing for a ASCA herding trial next weekend here in Memphis. She will be competing at the advanced level. I hate that I have to miss it !! Other than that, we have been playing soccer and hitting the gym. I got clobbered at my game this past Tuesday by a guy on the opposing team. Took my legs out, and I landed on my back with my head slamming into the pitch (ground, field). I am okay, and thank goodness, no concussion. I did pull most of the muscles in my neck and it is VERY uncomfortable, kind of like getting whiplash. But it is getting better and better, and I hope to play soccer this Sunday.

I was hunting through some pictures to enter in a contest, and I came across this puppy pic of Foster. :) What a cutie!!

Foster Completed His MXP and MJP!!!!!

This weekend we had an agility trial here in Memphis. Two big things happened, Foster finished his Excellent titles and Lexi , making her AKC agility debut, got her first Q and leg towards her Novice Jumpers Title!! Foster was running like his tail was on fire finishing all of his runs 8-12 seconds under time. We just have to work on his new found speed with his dog walk contact:) He normally does running contacts, but we may have to try a little 2o2o work just to make him remember to touch a paw in the yellow:) He Q'd on 4 out of 6 runs...the only day he Q'd in Standard was on the day with the down on the table. I was so proud!!! He got both of his titles and a double Q that day! Lexi did very well, all things considered, in her first trial in AKC. I won't go into the details here, but the judge made an incorrect call and blew a whistle, & eliminated us from her very first run. We did get to rerun it, and Lexi did complete her contacts on everything & did beautiful weaves, but wouldn't do anything but stand on the table. Somehow what happened on her first run, she equated with the table and refused to do anything but stand on it the rest of the weekend. Lexi is a very soft and sensitive pup. She did have an automatic down on the table, which was required in her previous USDAA trials. We will get her back before the Decatur show in May though:) She did complete her Jumpers course that afternoon with only one refusal, and received her first Q. Sunday's runs had good points too. In Standard, she had quite a few refusals due to looking around and nervousness, but she did her contacts and her weaves!!!! Her jumpers run was much of the same, but again she did her weaves. I am very proud of her, and we will just keep working on her confidence and distractions:)

Congrats to everyone from our crew who competed this weekend!!! It was a good weekend for all!! Special congrats to Miss Moana THE agility bulldog, who Q'd twice in Novice Preferred Jumpers with placements, and who has Q'd in 2 shows in a row now!!!!

Lastly, GO MEMPHIS!!!
