Big Excitement in Decatur !!!

Foster, Lexi, and I went to an AKC trial in Decatur, AL this weekend! After Jennifer figured out the secret to keeping Lexi in her weaves in a trial, she did ALL 12 weaves 5 out of 6 runs!!! I was ecstatic!! Wanna know the secret??? Bend over while she is in the weaves. Yes, we will need to phase that out. No, I don't train like that at all!!! But it sure did wonders for her confidence!!!! YEAH!!! So, she got her first open Standard leg this weekend and 4th place. Yes, she did do a sit on the table:) WOO HOO!! Lexi got 2 legs in Open Jumpers, and 1st place on both runs!!!! It has been a while since we have Q'd (Novice), expecially in jumpers!!I am so thrilled at her progress!
Foster and I ran and got a Double Q on Saturday!! He also Q'd in jumpers on Sunday! Moreover, he was having a blast playing with his Wubba and wrestling with Lexi in the field at the arena!!!

Jennifer and Moana came so close to Qing a few times this weekend!!! Jennifer and Cletus made HUGE progress this weekend! He stayed on the start line for both of his runs!!! He did the table!!! And he improved leaps and bounds in staying with Jennifer during the runs this weekend!!

Tammy and her dogs were at Decatur as well. Check out her blog (Chartam Shelties and Border Collies)to see how they did.

Here is a little video of Lexi and the weaves...

Valentines and Q's!!!

Mike sent me some beautiful roses @ work for Valentine's Day!! They smelled wonderful!!!

I spent the rest of the weekend with Lexi at a local USDAA trial. We only do USDAA trials once or twice a year, but we had so much fun this weekend!!! On Saturday, we had one of our typical standard runs of late, but we did better on a teeter and we did a good front cross (a weakness) before it! We came so close to a Q in Gamblers, but we missed the Gamble. The highlight was she did all of the contacts (Aframe, teeter) no problem!! Today was a much better day for our team!!! We Q'd in Gamblers first thing this morning AND got 2nd place!! I was SO excited! We haven't Q'd since last October when we moved up to Open in AKC. She did the teeter and Aframe again, as well as handled the Gamble beautifully!! In standard she did GREAT contacts, no weaves still, but I did eventually get her down on the table. It seems that the table and weaves are the biggest sources of stress for her in the ring. So I chose one to work on, the table. We changed up our pre-run routine and treats too, and she was much happier going into the ring than the past couple of shows. Lexi also Q'd in Jumpers today too!! I am ecstatic about her runs this weekend, and we are going to keep on working on her trouble spots next weekend in Decatur, AL at a AKC show. I think the next time that we do USDAA, we will be brave enough to try Snookers!! I think I got the hang of how it is run this weekend:)

That is all for now!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and Valentine's Day!!

One room down....

So we have completely finished the laminate flooring in the bedroom!! Finally!!! So here are some pictures of the floors!! We hope to have the great room finished by the end of the weekend!!

A post just wouldn't be complete without a pic of the pups. I got up to grab something from the kitchen and they all squeezed onto the couch!

More snow and now 60 degree weather!!!

We had another little dusting of snow last Wednesday. Lexi enjoyed running and snapping at the snowflakes as they fell! She is hilarious! Unfortunately it was still pretty dark so no good pictures!! It only snowed for a half an hour though! We definitely lucked out and missed all of the ice that hit Arkansas, North Tennessee and Kentucky!!

Yesterday was a nice warm day, and we were out at the farm for Agility class. Foster and Lexi were letting loose and running crazy in the nice weather!!
