Valentines and Q's!!!

Mike sent me some beautiful roses @ work for Valentine's Day!! They smelled wonderful!!!

I spent the rest of the weekend with Lexi at a local USDAA trial. We only do USDAA trials once or twice a year, but we had so much fun this weekend!!! On Saturday, we had one of our typical standard runs of late, but we did better on a teeter and we did a good front cross (a weakness) before it! We came so close to a Q in Gamblers, but we missed the Gamble. The highlight was she did all of the contacts (Aframe, teeter) no problem!! Today was a much better day for our team!!! We Q'd in Gamblers first thing this morning AND got 2nd place!! I was SO excited! We haven't Q'd since last October when we moved up to Open in AKC. She did the teeter and Aframe again, as well as handled the Gamble beautifully!! In standard she did GREAT contacts, no weaves still, but I did eventually get her down on the table. It seems that the table and weaves are the biggest sources of stress for her in the ring. So I chose one to work on, the table. We changed up our pre-run routine and treats too, and she was much happier going into the ring than the past couple of shows. Lexi also Q'd in Jumpers today too!! I am ecstatic about her runs this weekend, and we are going to keep on working on her trouble spots next weekend in Decatur, AL at a AKC show. I think the next time that we do USDAA, we will be brave enough to try Snookers!! I think I got the hang of how it is run this weekend:)

That is all for now!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and Valentine's Day!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!Kim & Lexi!!! What a great show for you both!! Hope you have a wonderful show in Decatur with Lexi and Foster!!! You will need to explain "Grandma" what a Gamble and Snookers are as I only know them in playing cards!!! You also said you are part of a "team" in these trials, so who else makes up the team with you? Dad & I are really happy & proud of all the hard work you and Mike have done with all the dog shows with the Agility, Jumpers and of course now Herding!!! Aren't you doing Herding also with Lexie, too Kim??? We wish we lived closer so we could see more shows with both of you now! The last time we saw one was with you and Mike herding!
Also, a Belated Happy Valentine's Day as your card went to TX and back home again, and as you know we are still recovering from our "sniffles" from the trip and thus no cards went out! Something will be in the mail soon though!

Miss you and love you! Mom
